A Personal Story of Shift and Resilience
Whew!
Life took an unexpected turn in early March, shifting my focus from being a full-time entrepreneur to a full-time caretaker. My dad, who had maintained perfect health, suddenly fell ill. From perfect health on March 2nd to near death by March 6th, his severe kidney infection led to septic shock and the shutdown of vital organs one by one.
Before realizing his illness, he experienced dizziness and a fall, resulting in broken ankles—both of them. This left him unable to put any weight on either leg, requiring him to use a wheelchair. It’s been nearly two months since his diagnosis, marked by delays in receiving clearance for ankle surgery from multiple doctors.
As challenging as this situation is for someone so active, it has provided me with a newfound appreciation for my online business—a much-needed respite during these uncertain times. Despite the disruptions, I’m proud to share that February marked one of my best months in recent years, with:
- $10K revenue from Merch by Amazon and over $13K in total print-on-demand sales across various platforms (Amazon, Etsy, RedBubble, Spreadshirt, Zazzle, etc.). This is significant as my print-on-demand income surpassed my largest affiliate source.
- Another record month for my PSP courses, primarily promoted through podcasting. My focus has shifted from affiliate to course income, aligning with a long-standing business goal.
Navigating the Course Launch and Beyond
A key lesson I’ve learned from students on Passive Shirt Profits is that your work doesn’t end with course launch. Many believe the hardest part is over once a course goes live, but this is when the real challenges begin:
- Optimizing Learning: While creating course videos might be straightforward, ensuring students can successfully execute the strategies is an ongoing challenge. Every student has unique needs and learning styles, so feedback and questions are crucial for improvement.
- Staying Connected: This year, I introduced weekly strategy tips for my Merch Course students, fostering a supportive community and aiding both myself as a teacher and my students’ success.
